I'm just a hobbyist game developer and I love being one, did I say I great at, no but I who cares.

I started my time with computing back in the early 90s with an Olivetti 486dx desktop running Windows 3.1 and MS DOS, I loved it and always wanted to see what I could get this machine to do, I wasn't the most knowledgeble kid with computers and once I managed to get a virus from my school's computer on to mine using a floppy disk, my teacher at the time did warn everyone but I was curious... it was not a fun day.

It was fixed (by my brother) and after that I didn't mess around with viruses after that, I did eventually find Qbasic, I spent so much time messing around with it, didn't know what I was doing most of the time but I did make some silly text mini games. sadly no longer existing and lost along with the pc a very long time ago.

A couple of years pass, can't quite remember how many but it was quite awhile as we since had a new Packard Bell iConnect tower powered by a 700mhz Intel Celeron and 64Mbs of ram running Windows ME, I suffered with it for years and often had to reinstall the OS. One day I went into my local EB store with my mum and I do my usual browsing all around then something caught my eye, it was The Games Factory under the Europress label and asked my mum to buy it for me, she did and I couldn't wait to get playing with it.

I started by messing around with the examples, sample games and all the sounds and midi's that that one single disc contained.

I was amazed at how easy it was to make a simple game, with it's easy to use event editor and drag and drop interface. I found it was just to easy to work with, it does have it's downfalls though as there are things you just couldn't do without extentions which was added later on in an update.

It was a great piece of software that I still own to this day, I no longer use that version though as I eventually moved on to Multimedia Fusion and then what I currently use, Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer with it's Firefly 3D engine.

I did also tinker around with Dark Basic, 3D Gamemaker (3D Game maker is a very cut down simplified version of Dark Basic that is terrible) and Blitz Basic, I never got along with them as I was so used to Clickteam software's interface by this point it became very hard to get used to coding games.

Because of this I've found it very hard to learn 3D engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine but I just can't get along with them.

I have also started making apps with Android Studio which seems to give me some luck with it getting a working app done.

That's pretty much how I got in to computers, not very interesting but thats me in a nut shell...

Have a great day where ever you are. :D
